FAQ

Who are these services for?

We are here for anyone who needs support, no matter their level of experience. You might be a complete beginner just starting your dance journey and navigating the challenges of the dance world, or an experienced first soloist preparing for a premiere of Swan Lake. Psychological support can make a difference at every stage of a dancer’s life.

Is this a one-time service or can I receive ongoing support?

We provide both one-time sessions and ongoing support. Sometimes challenges can be addressed quickly—for example, by helping you shift your focus to what truly matters—while other issues may take more time to work through. It all depends on your individual needs. Either way, we are here to help.

What specific psychological skills can dance psychology help with?

Dancers are elite performers, and like all performers, they can benefit from developing key psychological skills. These include building self-confidence, managing stress and pressure, setting effective goals, using visualization techniques, strengthening motivation, and more. Dance psychology supports dancers in developing these skills so they can thrive with greater autonomy throughout their careers.

What can I do today to improve my mental performance in dance?

Baby steps count and you have just done one! Searching for help is a completely normal and healthy thing to do. We know the life of a dancer can sometimes feel overwhelming, and that’s exactly why we are here.

If you can’t reach out to us right now, you can still try simple steps on your own: practice breathing exercises to calm your mind, talk to someone you trust to share the load, take time to rest for a clearer perspective, or use self-compassion practices to ease the challenges you’re facing.
