About this website

Psychology for Dancers is a space where dancers of all levels – from vocational to professional – can find practical psychological tools and strategies to enhance performance, manage stress, and build confidence both on and off the stage.

Our goal is to bridge scientific insights with real dance practice, helping every dancer grow not only physically but mentally as well.

About the author

My name is Josef, and I’m a dance psychologist. I was a professional dancer myself, so I understand firsthand the physical, mental, and emotional challenges dancers face.

I hold a Master’s degree in Sport Psychology from Universidad Autónoma de Madrid, a Master’s degree in General Psychology from Charles University in Prague, and a PhD in Dance Studies from the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague. I am also completing a psychodynamic psychotherapy training and have additional training in crisis intervention and coaching.

My work combines scientific research with practical methods directly applicable to the challenges dancers face. I focus on individual growth, helping each dancer develop mental strength, emotional balance, and self-awareness alongside their technical and artistic skills.

I am passionate about supporting dancers in reaching their personal and professional goals while maintaining their well-being and love for the art of dance.
